For the past few months, the CityNews ombudsman has been probing the case of a King St. West optician alleged to be selling counterfeit frames bearing the mark of some famous companies. After receiving numerous complaints about the products, the Silverman Helps team went to the store on Wednesday afternoon with hopes for a peaceful reconciliation.
It didn’t turn out that way.

As some of you already know, my current JPop it-girl is the cute, lovely and talented YUI. Ever since watching Taiyou no Uta (タイヨウのうた - A Song to the Sun, aka The Midnight Sun) movie, in which she starred, last December, I was completely drawn to her music.
Since then, I’ve spent a lot of my time lurking around YUI-Lover, the first English forum site dedicated to YUI’s music. It is quite a unique forum and has the one of the most friendly member groups.
One particular member, iron_turkey, has a connection to me that I never thought I would find in a relatively small forum like this.
“So what if he’s also from Toronto. Lots of people live in the city.” That is true. But I never would have imagine that he’s now going to the same high school, ACI, that I went to 9 years ago. He also went to the same junior high, SAM, as well. Boy, do I sound old now.
